The New Hampshire State Police have reported a fatal crash that occurred on Route I-93 S in Salem, NH on February 1, 2024. The crash occurred at approximately 4:30 pm during rush hour traffic just north of the Massachusetts border. While the New Hampshire State Police has not release too many details concerning the crash, they did report that the crash involved two vehicles, at least one of which struck the concrete median. One victim was reported dead and another sustained serious injuries.

The New Hampshire State Police Crash Analysis Reconstruction (CAR) Unit was dispatched to the scene of the I-93 south crash. All south bound lanes were closed until approximately 8:30 pm, causing horrible traffic congestion. Eventually, the police had to re-route traffic over the median and into northbound lanes.

Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash | NH State Police

This is not the first fatal crash that occurred in Salem, NH in recent months. In August of 2023, a distracted driver who was on her cellphone crossed into the opposite lane of travel on Main Street in Salem and killed a motorcyclist and injured another motorist. After an investigation, the police recently charged the distracted driver with negligent homicide for the motorcycle death.
