Granite Law Group Is Teaming Up With the Fleischer Foundation for Students

As a part of our global community, we find it is important to give back in ways that encourage others and change lives. The Granite Law Group is proud to be counted among the supporters of the brilliant students from the Mukuru Kwa Njenga Slum in Nairobi, Kenya. We have teamed up with The Fleischer Foundation to support a student as they pursue their education and follow their dreams.

About the Fleisher Foundation

Founded by Stephen A. Fleischer, The Fleischer Foundation focuses on providing sponsorship and mentorship support to students from the slums of Nairobi, so they are enabled to pursue their dreams and continue their education. The foundation has three programs currently, which focus on supporting students through every step of their journey.

The sponsorship program subsidizes the school fees for high school and post-high school education for the students in our program. The program sponsors a group of 8^th graders and we find ways to help them excel and continue their studies so they can lead better lives.

The mentorship program helps students address their academic and personal issues, so that students can focus on being the best versions of themselves. In addition to funding their schooling, The Fleischer Foundation is deeply committed to the success of their students and takes steps to support all needs their students may have, not just their financial need.

The job search program is key to helping graduates determine their next steps. Foundation staff work with students one-on-one to determine the best plans for students’ future, whether these plans include vocational training, university, or employment. The foundation staff work to help the students achieve their specific goal.

As the president of The Fleischer Foundation, Stephen heads up an international team, all while finishing his law degree at Loyola University School of Law in Chicago. After his graduation in May, the foundation is looking forward to breaking ground on a new school in Nairobi, which will be entirely run but The Fleischer Foundation. Before starting the foundation, Stephen served as a primary school teacher at Our Lady of Nazareth elementary school in Nairobi, where he witnessed firsthand the needs of the students there. This compelled him to find a way to support students as they complete their education and go on to lead a better life for themselves. In late 2016, The Fleischer Foundation became a reality and was incorporated.

The Fleischer Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
